About Me

I am an incoming Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science, University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland. My research interests include software engineering, cybersecurity, and trustworthy AI.

I received my PhD degree from the School of Computing, National University of Singapore (NUS), under the joint supervision of Professor Dong Jin Song at NUS and Dr. Teo Sin Gee at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). I was the recipient of the NUS School of Computing Teaching Fellowship (2023) and the A*STAR Computing and Information Science (ACIS) Scholarship.

Previously, I served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Technical University of Munich (TUM), a Research Scientist at I2R, A*STAR in Singapore, a Software Analyst at NCS (a member of the SingTel Group), and a Software Engineer at Gemalto (now part of the Thales Group). Prior to my research career, I worked in diverse product teams such as CAD software development, mobile banking solutions, and e-government platforms. My previous research focuses on security analysis of mobile applications and blockchain. I received my Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) degree in Computer Science from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and my Master of Computing degree in Infocomm Security from the School of Computing, National University of Singapore (NUS).

Recruitment

I am open for PhD supervision. Overseas students and visitors through their host country funding schemes (e.g., CSC from China, ARAP from Singapore) are welcomed.

I am also open to supervise thesis project at both UCD (Ireland) and TUM (under co-supervision mode). Interested applicant can directly write to me. The project topics includes but not limited to:

  • Automatic bug diagnosis of open-source LLM deployment tools (e.g., Ollama, Llama.cpp, etc.)
  • Security & privacy of GenAI (e.g., LLMs) and their applications (e.g., AI-based software, RAG, etc.)
  • Privacy preservation & compliance of LLMs
  • Security & privacy assessment of mobile apps & systems
  • Investigating development frameworks for LLMs in real-world applications
  • Diverse topics under the theme "Software engineering for AI (SE4AI)" and "AI for software engineering (AI4SE)"
